The first Butlin's Binkie Bear was introduced to the Butlin's Store in 2012 to commemorate the late Sir William Butlin, nick named "Binkie", (Sir Billy Butlin's brother). Since then there has been an annual release of the bear featuring a different colour bear and t-shirt design with the release year embroidered onto it.

Binkie Bears have become a staple of Butlin's collections throughout the years offering an alternative mascot to that of the famous Billy Bear.

Although not technically Binkie Bears, there were 2 releases prior to 2012 that have a very strong resemblance.
